The Republican State Leadership Committee, a advocacy group devoted to electing Republicans in down-ballot races, has a new ad backing David Sterling in his race for a seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court against incumbent Justice Courtney Goodson. The group also successfully backed Shawn Womack in his race for Arkansas Supreme Court in , with a series of ham-fisted attacks on his opponent, Clark Mason. Critics have noted that a group with “Republican” in the title might give a misleading impression to voters in what is supposedly a non-partisan race. The latest ad seems to be a prime example of precisely that strategy if you weren’t paying attention to this race, wouldn’t you assume Sterling was a Republican running against a Democrat? The ad is a sad mashup of half-thoughts from the grievance-addled id of the right-wing echo chamber. It’s less red meat than Sloppy Joe. Sterling is a “family man” and “NRA member” who will stand up to elites. Anderson Cooper even makes an appearance! The issues that really matter in a nonpartisan state judicial election. This is “express advocacy” so there are some reporting requirements — unlike the massive loophole for “dark money” groups.

Children can be a mirror of society and their opinions can often tell how far we have come and still have to go when it comes to race relations in America. Anderson Cooper will talk with the children and their parents and their brutally honest, inspiring answers will become a wake up call that will spark a national conversation. Teaming up with child psychologist Dr. The children, ages six and thirteen, were shown images that were scientifically designed to be ambiguous to children.
Edwards’ printed words provided alibis and excuses for the James-Younger Gang, which was seen by him and many other Southerners as a collection of well-liked former guerrillas forced into living outside the law by a repressive Republican Reconstruction federal government.
In that vein, this spring’s The Rainbow Comes and Goes: Indeed, some of its drama verges on the biblical, notably the sensational s custody battle that brought the young Vanderbilt international renown. Being labeled a “poor little rich girl” as a youngster, Vanderbilt reveals, “made me determined to make something of my life. To think that if you are from a wealthy family you should not want to achieve something on your own is a foreign idea to me.
Among her four husbands was a conductor Leopold Stokowski and a film director Sidney Lumet. Wyatt Cooper — Vanderbilt’s fourth husband and Anderson’s father — died of a heart ailment in ; he was just 50 years old. Convinced that Wyatt would have made the better parent, Vanderbilt confides in one email her wish that “it had been me who died instead of your father. After Gloria introduced her famous line of blue jeans in the s, for example, her sons would devilishly catalogue the number of butts they spotted each day bearing the name “Vanderbilt.

Men age like a fine wine. It takes awhile, a long while in fact, for a man to mature. When a woman finally meets a “real” man, she’s very very happy because she has waited so damn long for those sour boy grapes to mature into a luscious, velvety virile gentleman. The Nickelodeon Channel, UK of course it had to be a children’s channel to conduct this research, right? I am deeply troubled and disappointed by the one-sided, biased discussion surrounding pain medication that completely disregarded the voices of people living with debilitating pain. Pain Foundation was asked to participate. As an organization, we were hopeful this would be the start of a positive, constructive conversation bringing better resources, understanding and help to those dealing with addiction and those courageous individuals battling unrelenting chronic pain.
Sadly, the outcome was not what we had hoped. Instead, the show was another slight to the pain community.

Interview with Deborrah Cooper about the Pros and Cons of Interracial Dating What are some of the advantages or joys of dating someone from a different race? There are no particular advantages to choosing a partner of a different race just to experience a new joy per se that I can think of offhand. Our joy in our relationships, ANY relationship, must come from the surprise and delight of finding someone we have a spiritual, mental and emotional connection to.
Look for compatibility and a good fit. Choosing someone to love and someone to care about you should be your first priority, not race. What are some challenges that interracial couples deal with that couples of the same race don’t have? Enduring the unkind words of disapproving family, friends, and society including those at work may be too much for a new couple to bear. These people will question your motivation for pursuing a mixed-race relationship.
Though attraction is certainly a personal issue of taste, I caution readers to stop and think about your choice and why you are making it. Are you ashamed or embarrassed or in any way attempting to deny parts of yourself by dating interracially?

SUMMARY Considerable evidence demonstrates substantial ethnic disparities in the prevalence, treatment, progression and outcomes of pain-related conditions. Elucidating the mechanisms underlying these group differences is of crucial importance in reducing and eliminating disparities in the pain experience. Over recent years, accumulating evidence has identified a variety of processes, from neurophysiological factors to structural elements of the healthcare system, that may contribute to shaping individual differences in pain.
These diverse factors, and others may all play a role in facilitating elevated levels of pain-related suffering among individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds. Here, we present a brief, nonexhaustive review of the recent literature and potential physiological and sociocultural mechanisms underlying these ethnic group disparities in pain outcomes. Over the past two decades, a substantial and rapidly growing body of literature focused on disparities in health across racial or ethnic groups has accumulated.
Considerable evidence documents that these disparities extend to the prevalence, treatment, progression and outcomes of pain-related conditions. A significant proportion of this research has been carried out in the USA, and reveals that African—Americans, compared to non-Hispanic whites, suffer a greater burden of pain and pain-related suffering. Elucidating the mechanisms underlying these disparities is of crucial importance in reducing and eliminating disparities in the pain experience.

CNN Real-estate developer Donald Trump says he no longer has any interest in so-called birther theories. But he’s not backing down, either. The Republican businessman was one of the most prominent people to cast doubt on Obama’s birthplace before the president ultimately released his long-form birth certificate in , which showed he was born in Hawaii. Before then, Obama was long dogged by conspiracy theorists who maintained he was actually born in Kenya and, according to them, ineligible to be president.
Trump stressed that his presidential platform was focused on jobs and the military but that he would say “one thing” about the birther controversy: Obama’s various opponents in the presidential race were also trying to find his birth certificate. She wanted those records and fought like hell,” he said. Do you know that John McCain was a ‘birther’?
