I live in Madison, Wisconsin, and this past year, I’ve been everything from sailing instructor, to biology TA, to barista. I usually spend my summers in a boat or on a bike, but this year I’m excited to tackle some mountains instead. Audrey Payne Hi, everyone! Glowstick here, a Appalachian Trail NoBo thru-hiker. You could call it the “seven year itch” – after almost seven years working a desk job in our nation’s capital, I decided to leave my great job and head out into the wilds to reconnect with nature and have a great adventure. When I’m not hiking or working, of course , I can usually be found at the climbing gym, a music festival, daydreaming about my next big trip, or wandering about with a large cup of coffee caffeine addict right here. Future ambitions include hiking the PCT, learning to mountaineer, and maybe adopting dog.

Biblical Chronology and Dating of the Early Bible by Curt Sewell Introduction Until a few years ago, I thought that if one accepted the idea that the early Genesis chronology is reliable, one would automatically arrive at a date of about BC for the creation of the world. It turns out that may not be quite true. In this chapter, we will look at several different methods of dating these early events.
This chapter is an upgraded and expanded revision of an article that I wrote, published in Bible and Spade magazine.. These ages completely disagree with the Bible, and therefore must be rejected by those who take the Bible to be an accurate historical record.

And what about the dried doum-palm fruit, which has been giving off a worrisome fungusy scent ever since it was dropped in a brandy snifter of hot water and sampled as a tea? At last, Patrick McGovern, a year-old archaeologist, wanders into the little pub, an oddity among the hip young brewers in their sweat shirts and flannel. Proper to the point of primness, the University of Pennsylvania adjunct professor sports a crisp polo shirt, pressed khakis and well-tended loafers; his wire spectacles peek out from a blizzard of white hair and beard.
But Calagione, grinning broadly, greets the dignified visitor like a treasured drinking buddy. Which, in a sense, he is.

Working the perspective so as to draw the spectator into the scene, he transposed the biblical episode to his own era, rich 16th-century Venice. Note the splendor of the fabrics, the sumptuous jewelry, silver and silver-gilt tableware, and the elegant Palladian architecture, which set a magnificent stage for this story, which is supposed to have taken place in the home of poor people who ran out of wine during a wedding feast.
In the right foreground, the figure in yellow pours water that has turned into wine from a jar, a miracle witnessed by the two figures behind him. A man clad in green hurries toward the newlyweds, on the left in front of the columns, to ask why the best wine was kept for the end of the banquet. But the dogs are also an allegory of fidelity, that of Christians whose faith will sweep away the clouds. Neighbourhood greenways What are greenways? Many people think about greenways in the traditional sense of nature trails or pathways through natural areas or along waterfronts. In Vancouver, greenways are that and much more. Greenways in Vancouver are linear public corridors for pedestrians and cyclists that connect parks, nature reserves, cultural features, historic sites, neighbourhoods and retail areas.
Vancouver Greenways can be waterfront promenades, urban walks, environmental demonstration trails, heritage walks and nature trails. Greenways expand opportunities for urban recreation, provide alternate ways to move through the city, and enhance the experience of nature, community and city life. Who pays for greenways? City greenways City greenways are normally paid for from the City’s capital budget, the funds approved by Vancouver voters at municipal election time.
Other funds may come available through other levels of government programs, donations, non-profit agencies or business associations.

Peter used the sky as a proof that Messiah had come, but which sky did he use? A body of scholarly work addresses the date of the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. This body of work, together with Roman and Jewish histories, archaeoastronomy and the words of the Bible allow us to identify the day and almost the moment of his death.
That is an extraordinary claim. You must judge it for yourself. What can we learn from the Jewish calendar? Quite a lot, if we assemble the puzzle pieces. Because no work could be done on the Sabbath, which we call Saturday, Friday came to be known as Preparation Day 2. It was a day when food and other things needed for Saturday were prepared in advance. This is our first clue to the date of the crucifixion, because all four Gospels state that Jesus was crucified on Preparation Day, a Friday 3.
This is also the common consensus of the Church Fathers and scholars throughout church history 4. The Gospels also record that the crucifixion occurred the day before the Passover festival 5. This is a second important clue, because it gives us a solid connection with the ancient Jewish calendar system. Passover always begins on the 14th day of the Jewish lunar month of Nisan.
